In one of the most famous of his authentic quotes, Albert Einstein said, “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”
This is especially true when thinking about retirement. It should be so much more than laying on the couch, sitting in a recliner, or playing more tennis or golf. The truth is, few of us really prepare for this time in life, yet these years have the potential to be some of the best time you will experience.
Dee and I started our “post work” journey after personal tragedies. There is nothing more tragic in one’s life than losing a beloved spouse, yet that happened to both of us in our 70’s.
The good news is that neither of us wanted to stop looking for the adventures that were available to us. We both took a risk and met on an internet dating site. Over the six years we have been together we have created a phenomenal retirement, full of adventure, travel and meeting new friends.
What we believed was a normal progression of life was, according to those that know us best, unique. Using the lessons we learned, we show you how to turn your retirement aspirations into reality, how to SKI responsibly (it is not what you think), how to plan for your retirement years and how to avoid some quantum changes during your retirement.
It is our fervent hope that this book and our experiences will encourage you to expand your ideas of retirement, and motivate you to Dance Until The Music Ends.
